据《纽约时报》报道，英国埃塞克斯警方表示，在23日于货车中发现的39具遗体案件，是当地警方有史以来调查的最大规模谋杀案件。警方正在调查遇难者国籍，并表示目前属于“变化中的局势”。10月29日，越南有关部门向警方提供了清单，担忧有14人可能就在这39名遇难者之中。（戳回顾）

Police in Essex, UK said the Oct 23 discovery of 39 bodies in a truck has led to the largest murder investigation in the department’s history, reported The New York Times. They are now investigating the nationalities of the victims, saying that this is a “developing picture”. On Oct 29, Vietnamese authorities sent the police a list of 14 people who are feared to be among the victims in the truck.

马上学：Developing picture原指冲洗相片时的“显影”过程，作为习语时指尚不清楚或仍在变化中的局势。警方目前怀疑这39人均为非法移民(illegal immigrants)。而非法移民活动的组织者，通常被称为“蛇头”，则用human trafficker, people smuggler来表示。

近日，司法部印发《关于促进律师参与公益法律服务的意见》（以下简称《意见》），其中包括促进律师参与无偿法律援助等活动。《意见》鼓励律师为有需求的社会群体，包括农民工及残障人士等提供无偿法律援助。

China’s Ministry of Justice recently released a document to boost (提升) lawyers’ participation in pro bono legal services. The document encourages lawyers to provide legal support to social groups in need, including migrant workers and people with disabilities. 

马上学：Pro bono表示无偿服务的，尤指法律工作。日常生活中表示“无偿，免费”的表达有：complimentary, for free, for nothing, free of charge等。我们通常说的“赠票”，就可以用complimentary tickets表示。
