8月14日晚，在常德火车站内，一位中年男子突发疾病倒地，不省人事。前往成都参加考试的两名女医学生立即跪地进行心肺复苏和人工呼吸，整个过程近20分钟，直到救护车到达现场前，两人都没有放弃。不过最终，患者的生命依然没能挽回。
This happened outside Changde Railway Station on Aug 14, as borne out from a closed circuit television camera feed. A man fell down on the ground outside the station and two medical students rushed to him. They administered cardio-pulmonary resuscitation for 20 minutes, till an ambulance arrived and rushed the man to hospital. However, the man died there.
这段救人的视频在网上热传。两名医学生名叫彭婕婷、陈家利。当时，她们跪在地上对患者全力施救。在急救失败后，两人离开现场时还忍不住不停抹泪。
In a video that has since gone viral on Weibo with over 30 million views, Peng Jieting and Chen Jiali were shown kneeling on the ground beside the man trying to rescue him. They shed tears when the man died despite their best efforts, the clip showed.
彭婕婷和陈家利的举动令不少网友赞叹。
The incident also found mention on social networking sites, where the two students got their share of praise.
而没想到，评论中却出现了一条冷言冷语的恶评：“次日男子家属把两名学生告上法庭，原因是两个女生没有行医资格证，这剧情怎么样。”这样的评论竟然有6.1万个赞。
Until someone posted a nasty comment. "A day later, the family sued the two medical students for administering medical aid without having obtained a necessary doctor's certificate yet." The comment got over 61,000 likes.

一时间，这一调侃评论引发众怒。
其实，真实情况是男子的家属已向两位女生当面致谢：“人走了，但必须要感恩。”，并表示两人“已经做到最好了”。而对于恶意评论，家属称“不明真相随便乱评论是不道德的行为”， 而且恶评可能会让很多人不敢再伸出援手。
The dead man's family members expressed their gratitude to the two students for their efforts to save his life.They addressed the rumors on Sunday, saying they were very grateful for the attempts to save the man’s life. “You’ve done your best,” they said to Peng and Chen before bowing to them via video call, Knews reported.

据报道，成都中医药大学眼科学院教授、附属银海眼科医院院长段俊国是彭婕婷的老师，他说彭婕婷和陈家利是成都中医药大学硕士研究生，有三年临床经验。
Peng and Chen are medical postgraduates of Chengdu University of TCM with three years of clinical experience, said Peng’s tutor Duan Junguo, head of the university’s ophthalmology academy.

而对于恶评，彭同学表示，并没有关注网上的评论，回到成都之后就忙着准备考试。自己是从身边同学处知道网上的评论的。“我们觉得，我们做了自己应该做的事情，问心无愧。救人失败后哭泣则是因为，医生赶到之后查看了患者的瞳孔，发现其瞳孔已经放大，说救治的希望已经不大了。其实我们在抢救的过程中观察了他的瞳孔，注意到了这个情况。但我们还是为没有换回他的生命而惋惜，所以比较难过。”

8月23日，成都中医药大学官方微博转发相关新闻，赞扬救人的医学生“以自己的实际行动践行医学生誓言，体现医学生的良好素养”，并宣布拟于新生开学典礼授予两名同学校长特别奖，彰显仁爱成中医精神，也以此教育广大入学新生。

此外，彭婕婷和陈家利所在的成都中医药大学眼科学院还宣布，眼科学院、附属银海眼科医院决定授予彭婕婷、陈家利同学大医精诚奖，以表彰她们医者仁心、救死扶伤的医学精神。
段俊国在接受采访时表示，大医精诚奖命名来源于孙思邈，意味着一名优秀的行医者既要有精湛的医术，又要有高尚的品德修养。彭婕婷和陈家利用实际行动践行了“大医精诚”的精髓。这样的行为值得鼓励。
“We named the prize ‘da yi jing cheng,’ a term originally from renowned ancient Chinese medical expert Sun Simiao, which means ‘a good doctor/nurse must have both great medical skills and ethics,’” Duan said.
段俊国同时建议公众学习了解急救技巧及基本操作，以应对突发事件。
Duan also suggested the public should learn first-aid skills and grasp basic rescue methods for possible emergencies.
而对于“校长特别奖”，彭婕婷表示这个奖项的份量很重：“感谢学校、老师对我们行为的认可。我想，这是每一名医学生的职责。”
